For the last 300 years, no wolves have been living in the land of Vian Valley. It was known to the wolves as the “grey area”; the safety zone between packs, used only by traveling wolves. Wolves from the pack lands on either side refused to enter. It was simply against the rules. The valley was out of their territory.

A few years ago, scientists studying the packs on either side of the Valley noticed a steep dive in the number of wolves. Worried, they stepped in and captured a few wolves to examine them. A terrible disease the scientists couldn’t quite identify was sweeping through the ranks, slowly killing every wolf there was. They tried introducing new wolves into the packs, but they either got run off or caught the disease as well. Soon, the whole area was quiet...

The scientists gave up the area as a lost cause and moved onto other things. It became well known among the wolves that the strips of land on either side of the Vian Valley were dangerous, because the mysterious disease was somehow still alive. The trees, however, protected the valley from actually getting it. As more and more wolves were forced to travel longer distances to find packs since the destruction of the various packs where the disease now resides, eyes began to turn towards Vian Valley.

A few brave souls will be the first to settle. Will you follow them? And what will happen to the wolves with the threat of the mysterious disease surrounding them?
